What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Tort Paralegal Aide position at CorVel Brand?
Under supervision, this position performs paralegal tasks associated with the defense of personal injury matters through various stages of legal proceedings in response to departmental needs. This job is dedicated to the CorVel and New York Metropolitan Transporation Authority contract.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigative reports and other documents
- Review and handle requests for investigation and discovery
- Respond to court orders
- Prepare expert exchanges and trial subpoenas
- Conduct legal research
- Coordinate scheduling of witnesses for depositions and trial
- Aid in the management of cases throughout litigation
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of law firm experience
- Paralegal experience required
- Experience in torts is preferred
- Completion of paralegal course of study in a program approved by American Bar Association
PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $26.68 - $39.90 per hour
