Claims Assistant (Liability)

CorVel is hiring a Claims Assistant to work a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte, NC office. The Claims Assistant will assist and support the claims staff in the set-up and administration of Auto and Liability Claims and other tasks depending on the specific needs of the customers.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Process mail, email, and input notes/diary entries in the claims system
• Process payments, as needed
• Process form letters and reports
• Assist claims examiners with telephone calls including provider, claimant and customer calls
• Requires regular and consistent attendance
• Additional duties as required
  
  

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills
  
  

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, college degree preferred
• One year of office experience preferred
  
  

Pay Range

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $13.08 - $22.89 per hour
