Exciting Opportunity: Vice President of Investments
Location: Denver, CO (preferred) / Open to hybrid for the right experience
Cory is hiring a Vice President of Investments to lead the growth of the real estate division, responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and asset managing private real estate investments.
Seeking an experienced institutional investment professional who can thrive in a small, entrepreneurial firm. This is a strategic, hands-on role requiring leadership and individual contribution.
About Our Client:
An asset management firm specializing in multifamily real estate and private credit. They invest directly in private markets, creating value for investors through joint ventures, private credit, and preferred equity, handling all aspects of property and construction management through strategic partnerships.
Your Responsibilities as a Leader:
- Play a key role in developing long-term investment strategy, portfolio expansion initiatives, and capital allocation
- Participate in and lead strategic decision-making and investment committee discussions.
- Analyze potential investments through detailed financial modeling, risk assessment, and underwriting.
- Develop advanced investment models, including capital stack structuring, sensitivity analyses, and waterfall modeling for complex equity and debt structures.
- Manage the portfolio's asset performance to achieve or surpass the targeted returns on investments.
- Implement and improve strategies that increase asset profitability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor budget adherence, financial performance, and KPIs to improve investment outcomes.
- Act as the main point of contact for strategic operating partners, third-party property managers, and financial stakeholders.
- Accurately communicate asset performance and future outlooks through clear, high-quality investor reports.
The Skills & Experience You Possess:
- 10 years of experience in real estate investment, combining institutional training with the adaptability of a boutique firm.
- Strong Multifamily background is preferred
- Proficient in structuring, underwriting, and executing private equity real estate transactions.
- Proven success in autonomously closing deals while retaining a strategic portfolio focus.
- Solid understanding of market trends, economic factors, and investment cycles.
