MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE
The Beauty Specialist associate ensures that they deliver the beauty best luxury experience through demonstrations and guidance across all products and services to new and existing clients.

Your mission will be to act as Cos Bar’s “La Prairie” expert. You will be providing courteous and superior service to clients, building a loyal client base, developing new clients, and meeting or exceeding sales goals.

- Drives retail sales by achieving/ exceeding the established Cos Bar and La Prairie sales goals
- Provide elevated client service to exceed client expectations. Assumes responsibility for each client through opening, servicing, closing and follow-up
- Performs skincare consultations. Maintains a high level of product knowledge; educates clients on La Prairie creations and proper usage
- Greets and engages customers effectively to create a welcoming environment
- Nurtures and builds relationships with clients through use of both Cos Bar and La Prairie’s CRM tool
- Utilizes appropriate, strategic, and effective methods of communication, including emails, phone calls, text messages, and social media
- Demonstrates an ability to read and discover what brands and products are best for a customer by asking open-ended questions.
- Sells with appropriate demonstration of hygiene.
- Utilizes vendor supplied support collateral
- Samples effectively.
- Sells with integrity and trust while ensuring minimized customer returns.
- Links selling; offering recommendations of other synergistic products.
- Shows an ability to build a cosmetic regimen utilizing a variety of brands.
- Demonstrates willingness and aptitude to team sell.
- Consistently and accurately enters customer information into POS system
- Communicates present and future events. Sends thank you cards and follows up with customers through effective clienteling techniques as outlined by Cos Bar.
- Demonstrates an ability to develop a personal Beauty specialist relationship with customers.
- Communicates the presence of the Cos Bar social media outlets and loyalty rewards program.
- Keeps current on upcoming special events, product information and general business information
- Books appointments for events and confirms them.
- Works with vendor specific AE to plan, organize, and execute events. Demonstrates community and grassroots involvement to promote Cos Bar (i.e., local volunteer work in theater, schools, church, charity institutions, etc.)
- Maintains proper communication with the La Prairie and other Account Executive to ensure appropriate supply of testers and samples and that sampling policies are adhered to
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of core brands.
- Understands each brand’s philosophy and differentiation.
- Knows enough to make the best product/brand recommendations to a customer based on their needs.
- Continuous self-learning by utilizing in-store brand training manuals and collateral to learn more about brands.
- As a Beauty Specialist, much of the learning is done through self-study and mentorship from other more seasoned Beauty specialists on the team.
- Ensuring that you keep up with current brand changes.
- Is expected to actively participate in ongoing vendor trainings
- Abides by the Dress Code as defined in the Employee Handbooks and may reference managers if there are any questions or clarifications.
- Beauty specialist are expected to arrive at work on time and sales “Floor Ready” (Reference employee handbook)
- Must be a self-starter and be able to follow through on assigned tasks with little or no follow up from management. (Tasks must be completed in a timely matter)
- Must be flexible in scheduling and help out in store coverage based on business needs.
- Works well with others while contributing to creating a positive work environment for everyone.
- Demonstrates eagerness to learn proficiency in processes necessary for daily business but not limited to (packing/unpacking merchandise; receiving and sending transfers; opening/closing)
- Ensures thorough knowledge and effective, efficient use of POS to complete customer transactions, email, locate and investigate inventory.
- With training from the manager will understand and execute responsibilities of managing a brand.
- Drawers and shelves must be organized and merchandised to Cos Bar standards.
- Communicates stock levels and store specific trends to the buyers.
- Understand and become proficient on how to handle damages, returns, and testers as it relates to specific brands and Cos Bar processes.
- Adheres to Cos Bars enhanced Covid-19 safety guidelines, store reopening guidelines and No Touch policies.
- Receives and processes cash and credit card payments

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full time retail store position, and hours of work and days may vary depending upon business needs. This position regularly may require long hours and frequent weekend work not excluding holidays.

This position may require some travel based on business needs.

PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
Education:
- Associates or Technical degree/certification in cosmetology or beauty related field
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of cosmetics/skincare sales experience preferred. Equivalent sales experience in a luxury jewelry, fashion or accessories environment also seriously considered
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate with confidence to both internal and external customers
- Superior client service skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals
- Demonstrated knowledge of products and services; ability to use knowledge to inspire clients to make purchases
