Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance to employees and managers on workplace issues, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints, allegations, and disputes while ensuring confidentiality and fairness
- Support managers in addressing performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and terminations in alignment with company policies
- Monitor workplace climate and collaborate with leadership to recommend and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
- Oversee and administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, and other applicable policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding leave policies, eligibility, and processes
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate tracking of leave balances and payments during leaves of absence
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures related to employee relations and leave administration
- Stay informed on employment laws and HR best practices, ensuring company compliance and mitigating risks
- Prepare and deliver training for employees and managers on topics like workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and leave policies
- Partner with HR colleagues and business leaders on initiatives that enhance organizational culture and employee experience
- Participate in special projects, such as policy reviews, organizational restructuring, or employee engagement surveys
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve HR processes and address trends in employee relations or leave administration
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and/or leave administration
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification is preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Proficient in HRIS and leave management systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on fairness and compliance
