Hello Future Cosens Martial Arts Staff Member,

This is Charlie Cosens. The Owner / President of Cosens Martial Art studios. I know… it seems strange that I am writing to you directly in a job ad.

We like to keep things real at Cosens Martial Arts.. no room for corporate “Mumbo Jumbo.”

You have read the same old employee recruitment ads over… and over… and over…

My goal is to explain what we have to offer as Martial Art Coaches, Life Coaches, and as an Employer.

I'm going to try to keep this short and to the point as I'm sure you have a very busy schedule.

A few years back I set a standard for myself.. To only surround myself with people who are progressing in life and not stagnant procrastinators or pessimists. Due to this standard we now have an amazing staff of thirteen “Go Getters” who are excited about coming work and have a positive attitude toward their careers and the future.

We are looking for an individual who has a passion for helping others.

Someone who actually wants to wake up in the morning and feel excited to go to work and then leave at the end of the day knowing that they made a difference.

Martial Arts is the vehicle we use to make lasting changes in people's lives. You would be amazed by the reasons people join our classes. Needs ranging from children having difficulty focusing in school to bullying issues to middle aged men and women who are stressed out of their minds looking for a way to escape.

As a business we believe in giving as much value as possible to our customers / students so we can then give as much value to our staff members.

“How does that work..? What do you mean by that..? You may be asking.

This is a part-time entry-level position where you will have the opportunity to assist with classes and sharpen your skills as a Martial Arts Coach. We are a quickly growing company that prefers to hire full-time staff from within.

If you are dependable and coachable you will move up the ladder fast! You will not wait 10 years for a promotion. Realistically 6 -12 months! That's no joke!

Full time staff receive very competitive salaries we also profit share.

I'm not talking about miniscule .005% profit shares that may be offered at big corporate outfits.

We offer shares of 15% - 25% of net profits month to month.

I have a young man (21 years old) working for us currently who, in his first year as a Lead Instructor / Location Manager, will earn $70,000 to $80,000. He just purchased his own home and has a very bright future ahead of him.

I know what you are thinking… “It sounds too good to be true... “ Right..?

Would you like to know how this all works..? I'll tell you.

After a quick phone interview you will be invited into one of our bi weekly staff trainings / meetings to meet our staff. During the training you will have an opportunity to ask our staff members anything you wish. You will also experience a day in the life of a Cosens Martial Arts staff member. We want you to be just as excited about joining us as we are about having you jump aboard!

After you are selected to join our team you will undergo martial art business training, sales training, and classroom management principles training that will develop you into a world class instructor.

Did I mention that throughout the process you will be trained as a martial artist 2-3 times per week? As a result of this you will be in the best shape of your life. That's a guarantee!

Within 6-12 months after you have proven your coachability and dependability you will be eligible for promotion with salary pay, profit share, 4 weeks paid vacation and a minimum of 6 days PTO (Paid Time Off).

This position is a Float Position. You will be reporting to the Bay City, Midland, Saginaw or Mt. Pleasant Locations.

Not too shabby.. Huh?
