Basic Function
The Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant will support the communications efforts for the athletics department and its 27 varsity sports in the areas of media relations, website management, social media, graphic design, video production and statistics.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary communications contact for 1-2 sports in each athletic season
- Research, write and edit releases featuring student-athletes, coaches, and teams
- Assist in producing content for MBUSpartans.com, Spartan Digital Network and official athletics social media accounts
- Maintain statistics for assigned sports (in-game, reporting, record keeping)
- Help produce athletic publications such as game programs, game notes, recruit guides, etc.
- Promote and nominate student-athletes for weekly and annual awards
- Work with print, radio, and television media to promote Missouri Baptist Athletics
- Arrange and / or perform game day responsibilities such as public address, clock management, scoreboard operation, music, etc.
- Mentor student assistants, interns, and Sport Management practicum students
- Relationship with Christ, reputation beyond reproach, and active member in a local church
- 30 hours per week including daily office hours, nights, and weekends largely based around home event coverage
