Job Title: Quality Control Lab Technician
Organizational Relationships
Reports to:
- Director of Quality
- QC Lab Manager
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining retained samples inventory & area
- Reviewing revised SOP’s, specifications and related documents
- Maintaining and calibrating lab equipment like pH meter, viscometer, and lab balances
- Effectively and efficiently managing multiple projects and workload
- Conducting routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to determine their physical, chemical, and organoleptic properties
- Compiling and interpreting data, preparing reports for management review
- Responding and reacting to the detection of testing anomalies and deviations in operation or procedure (performing instrument and method troubleshooting, initiating laboratory-based investigations)
- Ensuring compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identifying deviations from quality standards and conduct investigations to determine root causes
- Documenting test results and keeping accurate records in laboratory notebooks and databases
- Coordinating with other departments to address quality issues and implementing corrective actions
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Responsible for checking operation, function and calibration of lab equipment
- Raw materials, in process, and finished goods testing
- Communicating with coworkers regarding the quality of tested products
- Assisting in sample testing, report writing, data entry, and sample submission to other labs and external vendors.
- Quickly reporting Non-conformances, production problems and safety issues to management
- Initiating corrective actions to have final products with required specifications
- Ensuring GMPs, as defined in Cosmetic Solutions SOPs, are followed by all members in production.
- Performing any other duties or tasks that may be required of you by the company
- Working with Lab staff on extension of expiration dating of raw materials
- Promoting and demonstrating the company’s core values and policies
- Ensuring the quality of products made by production
- Participating in the writing of SOPs, out of specification (OOS) reports, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), investigations and other documents
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
- Participating in 6S lean workplace
Experience:
- Previous experience in cosmetic, drug and / or other FDA regulated industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work at one’s own initiative.
- Must be able to thrive in fast paced work environment.
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and other regulatory standards
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and procedures accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Computer skills, including the usage of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Education:
- Associate's degree or higher in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, etc.)
