What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canine Daycare Manager position at Cosmic Canine Plano, LLC?
Day Care Lead Attendant – Be a Hero to Dogs Every Day!
Reports To: Kennel Manager
Do you believe that every dog deserves a day filled with fun, learning, and love? Does dog hair on your clothes and slobbery kisses on your face make you smile? If so, we want you on our team!
At Cosmic Canine, we’re not just a dog day care—we’re a second home for our furry guests, and we’re looking for a Day Care Lead Attendant who’s ready to bring their energy, enthusiasm, and leadership to our playgroups!
This job isn’t for just anyone. It’s for someone who:
✔ Loves dogs AND people (because owners need love too!)
✔ Thrives in a fast-paced, tail-wagging environment
✔ Takes charge like a calm, confident pack leader
✔ Believes every dog deserves a fun, safe, and enriching day
What You’ll Do (And Love Doing!) Play, Train, and Care
- Lead group play sessions and ensure every pup plays nicely. (Think of yourself as the fun camp counselor dogs actually listen to.)
- Enrichment activities—help dogs use their brains while having a blast. Puzzle games? Training exercises? Yes, please!
- Keep a watchful eye—dogs can’t talk, so you’ll be their voice if they feel unwell or act unusual.
- Be organized! Keep track of their belongings so everything gets returned to the right pet parent.
Keep Things Fresh and Clean
- Maintain a clean, safe environment—because happy dogs deserve fresh spaces to play.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures to keep illness and germs away.
- Keep supplies stocked so we’re always prepared for anything (yes, even accidents).
Document Everything (Yes, Even Poop!)
- Track feeding, watering, potty breaks, meds, behavior, and more (you’ll basically become a poop detective).
- Record any unusual incidents or behavior changes—knowledge is power when it comes to dog care!
Build Relationships with Dogs AND Their People
- Greet pet parents like they’re your best friends—because they trust us with their furry family members.
- Keep owners updated with fun stories, pictures, and messages about their pup’s day.
- Make drop-offs and pick-ups feel like VIP red carpet moments (just with more barking and wagging).
Safety First, Always
- Keep an eye out for potential risks or hazards—dogs are sneaky, and safety is top priority!
- Ensure gates are secured, doors are shut, and every pup is properly attended to.
- Follow safety protocols, finish your training, and always be aware—some dogs are angels, some might be jerks, and you need to know the difference.
Be Part of an Awesome Team
- Work hand-in-paw with teammates to keep things running smoothly.
- Communicate openly—it takes a strong pack to care for this many pups!
What We’re Looking For: Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (a Ph.D. in Dog Love is also acceptable).
- Experience with animals is a bonus, but a passion for dogs is a must!
Skills & Abilities
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and grow in your role.
- Ability to handle dogs calmly and professionally (even the wild ones).
- Strong verbal and written communication—owners love updates, and so do we!
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team (we’re all in this together).
Reliability & Commitment
- Punctuality is key! Dogs have schedules, and they depend on us.
- Skipping work = making a pup wait to go potty, and that’s just not cool.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds (because some dogs love being carried like babies).
- Stand, bend, and kneel for long periods (because dogs don’t sit still).
- Comfortable working in all kinds of weather (yes, even when it’s raining, because dogs don’t care)
Work Environment
- Expect dog hair, barking, and lots of love every day.
- Exposure to cleaning products, noise, and of course—adorable furry chaos.
- Some evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required (because pets need care 365 days a year!).
