What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Specialist position at Cosmic Software Technology Inc?
As a member of the Team Submarine USS District of Columbia (SSBN-826) Training Systems Implementation Team (TSIT), you would be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition, storage, and distribution of training devices, materials, equipment, and supplies to support Navy training programs, ensuring readiness and effectiveness for the next generation of submarine deterrence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management:
- Identify, procure, and manage a wide range of training materials, including equipment, supplies, and training aids.
- Review studies and analyses to develop training plans.
- Direct support of critical path events, milestone charts, planning and progress.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Manage the flow of materials to training locations, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
- Support briefings for and develop training in part with NAVSEA 08, and other engineering support teams.
- Logistics Support:
- Coordinate with Team Submarine stakeholders and affiliated warfare centers to determine appropriate training solutions for new and updated ship systems.
- Develop and implement logistics plans to support training activities.
- Review technical manuals (TMs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), Ship system manuals (SSMs), and provisioning support documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Navy regulations and policies related to material management and logistics.
- Training Support:
- Develop curriculum for Columbia Class specific systems and assist training instructors with the setup and maintenance of training equipment and materials.
- Provide technical support to training personnel as needed.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of training programs and materials.
- Out of cycle training events.
- Action and milestone planning and tracking, project planning and progress, tracking of program metrics, milestone reviews; resolution of issues for milestone decisions.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain effective communication with Team Submarine Stakeholders, personnel, facilities, and ship’s crewmembers.
- Coordinate with other units or commands to ensure smooth material flow and support.
- Participate in training planning and execution meetings.
- Other Duties:
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with the maintenance of training facilities or equipment.
- Stay current with Navy policies and procedures related to material management and training support.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Knowledge of Navy training regulations and procedures.
- Experience in administrative or logistical support roles is a plus.
- Prior military service in a Submarine Nuclear Engineering training role a plus.
