Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Systems Engineer to join our team at Cosmic Software Technology. This individual will be responsible for leading subordinate system engineering and technician teams within system development projects, encompassing design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing diagrams, drawings, and procedures for task assignment to subordinates. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining digital data acquisition and recording systems, with a focus on software development using languages such as MATLAB, C , C#, and SQL.
A strong understanding of data telemetry techniques, high-speed network topologies, and modern data storage systems, including SAN and NAS technologies using iSCSI or Fiber Channel connectivity, is also essential. The candidate should be proficient in Systems Administration for both Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux systems operating systems, with experience in Microsoft Active Directory and Red Hat Linux preferred.
In addition, they should have experience with TCP/IP networking design, including internal subnet design, configuring network switches and routers for internal networks, and database administration, primarily with Microsoft SQL Server.
The role requires a solid understanding of system troubleshooting, focusing on data acquisition systems. A strong desire to develop/maintain software on both Linux and Windows platforms, as well as MATLAB software, is necessary. Additionally, experience with instrument control software development and data processing, calibrations, and quality control principles to provide accurate and reliable results to data analysts is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Math is a must. US DoD experience is an added advantage, and an Active Secret clearance is required for this position.
