JOB DESCRIPTION
Cosmos Club, founded in 1878, is a private social club with individuals who are distinguished in science, literature and the arts or public service. Members come from virtually every profession that has anything to do with scholarship, creative genius, or intellectual distinction.
Summary/Objective:
The Audio Visual (AV) Technician will make sure that all AV needs are taken care of including set up, maintenance, and repair of all equipment used to conduct live or virtual events such as meetings, concerts and speaking engagements.
Essential Functions:

Sets up and installs equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, meetings, presentations, and conferences

Monitors sound feeds to ensure quality

Ensures equipment is installed according to designated layout & tested in advance

Tests and resolves equipment issues

Diagnoses and corrects media system problems

Mixes sound inputs and feeds

Sends in equipment for repair or replacement as needed

Compresses and digitize audio and video data

Takes pictures at member events

Required Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous experience with AV equipment required

Knowledge of microphones (single/multiple chord/cordless)

Knowledge of PowerPoint, streaming, recording, and other computer software

Experience working in a team setting preferred

Ability to read and speak English is required
