Summary

The Concrete Carpenter Foreman will oversee the forming, pouring, and installation of concrete footings and cast-in-place concrete walls for a theme construction company. The foreman will lead and coordinate a team of workers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in the concrete industry, specifically related to building foundations and cast-in-place walls.

Location: Varies based on project assignment (within continental U.S.); Potential assignment locations include, but are not limited to, Duluth, MN; and Northwest Arkansas.

Travel Requirement: This is a 100% travel position. Candidates must be comfortable with continuous travel and possess the flexibility to work on the road for extended periods.

Shift: Varies; M – F; 7:00am – 3:30pm; M – Th 6:00am – 4:30pm; or T – F 6:00am – 4:30pm; or other first shift combination(s); possible overtime outside normal hours including weekends

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned crew.
  2. Train and mentor team members in proper techniques and safety standards.
  3. Ensure all crew members follow company policies and procedures.
  4. Inspect work areas for hazards and mitigate risks.
  5. Prepare job sites, including grading, forming, and layout of footings and walls.
  6. Oversee installation of reinforcing steel and other structural components.
  7. Direct the forming and pouring of concrete structures, utilizing Symons and other forming materials.
  8. Monitor project progress and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
  9. Conduct inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  10. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members.
  11. Adhere to safety requirements and equipment guidelines.
  12. Travel as needed to and from job sites.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  14. Perform other tasks as assigned.


Knowledge and Skill

  • Minimum of five years concrete construction experience, specifically in forming and pouring concrete footings and cast-in-place walls.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or technical training preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and project plans.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment and using construction tools.
  • OSHA 10 safety training required.

Physical Demands

  • Use hands to handle or feel; stand; walk; climb or balance; stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lift 70 lbs. floor to waist; lift 90 lbs. waist to chest; lift 25 lbs. chest to overhead; carry 50 lbs. over a distance of 50 ft.; push a 100 lbs. wheeled cart over a distance of 100 ft.; and drag 50 lbs. over a distance of 100 ft.


Work Environment

  • Exposed to typical noises and smells associated with the construction environment, such as exposure to fumes or airborne particles and machinery. Noise level is moderate to loud.
