As our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in driving business success and growth across the nation. As the Vice President and a member of our executive team, you will build and nurture strong business relationships, expand our customer base, develop marketing strategies, and increase profitability. You will create and implement strategies that ensure seamless communication with customers while fostering cross-functional collaboration.
This role travels up to 50% of the time, primarily nationally, to customer sites, industry events, and COST locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within COSTs sector, targeting potential customers, contractors, and architects.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, market expansion, sales goals, and profitability, while aligning with COSTs mission, vision, and business goals.
- Set and manage the sales budget.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships, expanding COSTs established network and driving territory coverage.
- Integrate estimating, operations, and sales teams for smooth project execution from bid to completion.
- Lead and collaborate with estimating, design, sales, production, and field teams to improve transparency, teamwork, efficiency, and problem-solving.
- Mentor and inspire team members, promoting a high-performance, positive, customer-focused mindset.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities.
- Provide regular reports, forecasts, and strategic insights to the executive team.
- Represent COST at trade shows, in professional associations, and through networking opportunities.
- Lead comprehensive marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility, through a variety of channels and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in sales, marketing, or business management; related master's degree preferred
- 10 years in business development and sales, particularly in commercial construction and B2B sales
- 5 years of experience in training, mentoring, coaching, and leading teams to drive performance
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent planning, execution, and leadership skills in a collaborative environment
- Exceptional relationship building abilities
- Very proficient in relevant software, reporting tools, ERP, and CRM systems
- Understanding of sales strategies and construction project lifecycles (pre-construction, estimation, and project management)
- Ability to create and manage change and ensure accountability
- Strong verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills for data driven problem solving; able to interpret complex technical instructions
- Able to work with energy and independence while traveling up to 50% of the time
- Expert in formal sales techniques, including prospecting, cold calling, overcoming objections, and closing
- Must have and maintain valid drivers license; must have full and strong vision, including depth perception
- Must pass a drug test
