Job Description:
The Area Manager is a key role responsible for overseeing the merchandising operations within a
specific geographical area or region. This includes managing the financial, operational, administrative,
and human resources excellence for the team of Supervisors and Merchandisers within that area. This
includes managing the visual presentation, product assortment, and inventory levels to drive sales and
enhance the overall customer experience. The Area Sales Manager collaborates closely with store
managers and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of merchandising strategies
and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Key Account Manager
- If In-House Service is ever required, this individual will be responsible for the hiring, training, and
- Support and maintain a professional, team environment.
- Communicate, monitor, and help execute weekly merchandising initiatives with 3rd party service teams.
- Conduct monthly comp shops at local retailers including Independent Garden Centers.
- Collaborate with Account Manager/Centralized Replenishment Team to ensure proper replenishment of
- Participate in weekly conference calls with Account Manager/Centralized Replenishment Team and 3rd
- Conduct regular store visits to assess compliance with Live Goods Department/Visual standards and
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in product placement and
- Train and develop merchandising staff on product knowledge, and brand guidelines according to
- Execute administrative, record keeping, and informational tasks completely and in a timely manner; lead
- Utilize Impact Merchandiser to communicate merchandise plans to district merchandising team.
- Prepare and communicate weekly execution reports for Store Management/ District Ops teams.
- Utilize corporate software packages to maintain inventory accuracy on a weekly basis.
- Resolve store level customer service issues and requests.
- Participate in district functions such as resets and events.
- Participate in merchandising safety meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
