What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Costa Farms?
The Electrician 1 is responsible for performing basic electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. This position is ideal for those who are beginning their career in the electrical trade and have a foundational understanding of electrical systems. The Electrician 1 works under the supervision of more experienced electricians and ensures that tasks are completed in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards.
Duties:
- Perform electrical and mechanical work in order to repair and/or maintain company equipment including but not limited to, Irrigation Booms, Potting, Plugging and Transplanter Machines, Greenhouses Control System (Qcom).
- Perform new electrical and mechanical installation Projects.
- Respond to work orders by safely performing maintenance and repair tasks using EPP.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment with the purpose to detect and prevent problems.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic system.
- Able to follow supervisor instructions and directions as needed.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Two years of previous experience in the industrial maintenance position.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffold, man lift, and roof in excess of 30 ft.
- Ability to demonstrate electrical and basic mechanical knowledge through testing.
- Ability to read blueprints, programming manuals and troubleshoot for industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Internet searches, and use of professional applications is required; prior experience as a CMMS user is beneficial.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience operating hand and power tools.
- Qualified candidate should possess at least a technical degree in an electrical or related field from US or in other country.
