What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ops Transportation Supervisor position at Costa Farms?
Position Overview:
- Manage a team of up to 10 Employees Drivers.
- Schedule and route the movements of goods across farm locations and vendor locations in South Florida dispatching drivers in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Communicate detailed work instructions such as pickup and delivery expectations to planner, drivers, customer service reps and/or customer. Assist in the delivery and movements, when necessary.
- Liaison between driver, internal departments, and external vendors and customers to meet the needs of each.
- Provide great customer service to internal and external customers.
- Act a servant leader and exemplify Costa Farms Hungry, Hustle, Humble model.
- Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
- Work with Manager on productivity, maintenance, driver satisfaction and development.
- Coach and motivate drivers to be safe, efficient, and productive.
- Manage and maintain equipment and coordinate repair and maintenance needs.
- Ability to work overtime during peak season, including weekends.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in transportations/logistics environment
- 3-5 years of experience leading a group of people
- 3-5 year of Class A experience as a CDL Driver
- Safe Driving record and history with no more than one moving violations in the past three years
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen
- Must have a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) physical certification
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- May need to lift heavy packages or boxes, and move pallets or racks
