POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounting Financial Analyst will support the accounting and finance teams in analyzing financial performance, preparing reports, providing insights to improve decision-making and business strategies, and providing accounting support as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial modeling, and analytical skills. This position will be working in an office at our Support Center office in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. This includes analyzing financial statements, forecasting future revenues and expenditures, assessing financial performance, analyzing variances, and evaluating opportunities for improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and financial plans, provide insights into financial projections, and monitor adherence to financial goals and budgets. Work with department heads to gather and analyze data. Help develop and refine forecasts for new sites.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting financial status, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations. Ability to generate ad hoc reports as needed.
- Accounting Operations: Assist in daily and monthly accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, assist with internal and external audits, and support necessary controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are preferred.
Experience: Two plus years' experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related role. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis.
Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities, diligence, proficiency in excel, and excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
