Position Summary
Signs for deliveries, checks delivery content against the shipping invoice, addresses and resolves any problems with shipments, stocks or transfers deliveries accordingly, and works with both customers and distributors to address any shipping and delivery issues.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Schedules appointments with carriers and vendors to receive trailer loads at the depot by phone and fax. Keys vendor appointment log to the computer and prints log.
- Checks in truck drivers to start appointment and sends freight bill to receiving dock. Prepares, checks, prints, and files various shipping/receiving paperwork and reports. Sets dock restraints to lock trailer to receiving dock by pushing button and monitoring lights.
- Answers phones, verifies appointments and gives driving directions. Checks deliveries against appointment log. Verifies, prepares, and logs freight bills in computer. Assigns freight door, reminds drivers to chock wheels. Verifies freight document sell unit total with sell units keyed as received.
- Counts and signs for delivered goods, verifying to freight bill and purchase order. Separates mixed item pallets for checking.
- Keys/scans received goods into computer using radio frequency computer gun or thin client station; verifies UPC and item. Uses gun to order the printing of pallet tags and UPC stickers. Creates and attaches pallet tags. Notifies manager of any mismarked, damaged, or miss shipped items. Re-labels bad UPC product.
- Prepares receiving document for optical imaging by placing bar code number on back: forward to central office or files on site.
- Prepares, checks, corrects, prints, and files various shipping paperwork and reports.
- Communicates supplier problems and informs staff of incoming loads.
- Identifies, investigates, and corrects inventory discrepancies from computer reports and inquiries and physical counts to keep counts and value of inventory accurate. Audits daily reports, submits adjustments. Adjusts stock for damages and destroyed merchandise.
- Investigates and processes overages, shortages, damages, and adjustments related to production reports and other related reports and logs.
- Cleans up and clears the receiving dock of any debris or trip hazards. Ensures proper cleanup of potentially hazardous materials spills.Follows safety procedures.
- Maintains office area by replenishing office supplies and straightening work area in order to provide a clean and safe working environment.
- Provides prompt and courteous member service. Directs members to products, and relates product status knowledge; responding to all phone requests and inquiries within designated time window.
- Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications: Required:
- Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 2 (within 30 days and then every three years), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler's Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction), Electric Pallet Jack Certification (before operating EPJ), Forklift Driver Certification (before operating forklift)
- Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.
Recommended:
- High School diploma or GED.

Additional Information:
- Saturday availability a must.
- Scheduled hours will be between the hours of 5:00 am and 1:30 pm.
- Part time hours range from 24 to 40 hours per week.
- Steel-toe shoes required at all times.
