Job Summary
- Assists customers at counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacist, and retrieves filled prescriptions. Rings up orders. Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges.
- Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to the extent allowable by State law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering questions at pharmacy window, directing members to product location.
- Assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, re-stocking, labeling and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist's supervision. Prepares third-party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State law.
- Processes invoices and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
- Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards/
- Orders, receives and stocks over-the-counter product in accordance with merchandising plan for department. Creates product signs.
- Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler. Follows security and safety procedures, including securing the department by appropriately storing and disposing of confidential documents and by using proper disposal methods for immunization supplies and hazardous waste.
- Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery, computer, phone, fax, printer, manual pallet jack, computerized order/inventory system, cash register, hand held scanner, trash compactor and cardboard baler.
- Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
Qualifications
- State, National, or NACDS technical training ir Pharmacy Technician license as required by State (Required)
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (Required)
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Professionals HIPAA TRaining (prior to beginning work in department), Costco Hazardous Material DOT training course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste TRaining (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), MethGuard (within 30 days). (Required)
- Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days or hire. (Required)
- Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Computer, math, insurance billing, and customer service skills preferred.
