Position Summary
The Central Station supervisor will be responsible for facilitating, coaching, and providing leadership and resources for a team consisting of an average of 25 individuals in a 24/7 monitoring facility.
Job Duties/Essential Functions

- MEMBER SERVICE: Provides and ensures staff provides an exceptional member experience.
- ADMINISTRATION: Ensures proper department coverage (writing schedule and break aids if needed). Understands department budget, able to research and explain budget variances.
- MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Coaches and mentors employees to provide support and guidance. Has regular open and honest conversations with employees to discuss work performance and career development. Identifies learning opportunities to strengthen employee knowledge, skill and ability.
- COMMUNICATION: Regularly shares information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations. Successfully navigates difficult conversations with employees, members, and suppliers. Listens, expresses empathy and adapts to get point across. Addresses issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and to avoid escalating the situation. Consistently demonstrates business knowledge during interactions with senior management.

- COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY: Takes measures to ensure employee and member information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy.
- Works in a 24-hour alarm monitoring facility; processes and responds to incoming alarm signals via computer and phone.
- Uses Windows based software programs to monitor incoming alarm signals; initiates phone calls to location management, police, and fire authorities.
- Reviews and operates alarm, camera, and video systems for a variety of US and Canadian Costco locations.
- Implements plans, policies, and procedures to ensure timely, and accurate notifications, and mobilization actions in emergency situations; issues warnings, alerts, notifies location’s management, and appropriately escalates incidents to senior leadership.
- Reviews, analyzes, and distributes various reports, and statistics.
- Oversees and manages the annual operating budget, such as variance analysis.
- Drafts and distributes written communication to all levels of management, employees, and suppliers.
- Manages the creation of department related presentations as needed on a variety of subjects.
- Oversees initial and ongoing training for Central Station; implements standards, policies, and practices to make continual improvements, and increases the effectiveness of the monitoring program.
- Ensures Central Station is sufficiently staffed and specialists are trained and equipped to properly utilize all systems.
- This is a full-time management/leadership position (45 hours per week).

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications
Required:
- Ability to analyze various aspects of different Costco business operations including warehouse, depot, business center, etc.
- Must demonstrate knowledge or familiarity with the following areas: burglary and fire alarm systems, general maintenance, safety and security, HVAC systems, refrigeration.
- Proven ability to clearly communicate information in ways that can be easily understood.
- Able to relate well with a variety of personalities and individuals, and participate with the team in a professional manner to accomplish business goals.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, well-organized, and able to identify and prioritize tasks.
- Proven record of taking initiative, being self-motivated, and being a team player as well as being able to function independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to meet state and/or federal requirements.
- Previous management experience.
- Scheduling flexibility in order to meet the needs of the business; on call availability may be required.
- HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation (within 30 days of hire); Leadership Development 101 (within one year); Costco Pay Policies (within 90 days of promotion).
- Previous Central Station, GSOC or SOC experience.
Recommended:
● High School Diploma or GED preferred.
● Previous manager experience.
● Experience with burglary and fire alarm systems.
● Familiarity with security camera systems is strongly preferred
● Ability to multitask, stay flexible and respond to changing priorities.
● Ability to maintain a positive attitude and sense of urgency for helping people.
● Must have strong commitment to quality, attention to detail and timeliness.
