Sales Associate - Island Park

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Costello's Ace Hardware in Island Park, NY. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with sales floor duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and receiving area.
• Assist with sales floor duties, including processing transactions, handling customer returns, and maintaining inventory levels.
• Participate in daily huddle meetings to discuss sales goals, promotions, and customer feedback.
• Take initiative to learn product knowledge and selling skills to effectively assist customers and meet sales targets.

Physical Requirements

The Sales Associate will be required to:

• Walk frequently on flat surfaces.
• Stand constantly, with occasional sitting.
• Stoop frequently to pick up cartons at floor level.
• Reach frequently to a height of 6 feet.
• Lift frequently up to 60 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
• Use hand dexterity to operate the register and complete paperwork.
• Push/pull frequently to move hand jacks from place to place.
• Carry frequently up to 50 lbs., with occasional carrying of more.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for long periods.
