Coterra is hiring a Field Network Support Technician for the Permian Basin
JOB SUMMARY
As a Field Network Support Technician at Coterra, you will support the Field Network Team to install, maintain, and repair field communication systems in our Permian Production Fields. This role requires travel and hands-on work with wireless, routing/switching, and IPv4 technologies. Work hours vary, including weekends and after-hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and maintain microwave dishes, antennas, cameras, and wireless access points
Perform cabling installation (Cat5/6, low-voltage DC power)
Mount and align microwave radios and networking equipment
Troubleshoot and repair broadband (microwave) services
Configure networking systems (managed switches, TCP/IP settings on Windows 10/11)
Utilize PC and mobile applications for programming and diagnostics
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
MUST be Comfortable using an articulated aerial boom lift (up to 50’)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with hand and power tools for installation work.
Knowledge of cabling, connectors, and routing cables through structures
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation
Ability to work on-call and outside normal business hours
Must have a clean driving record
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years of experience working in a field IT support role
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Installer will be required to regularly work from a boom lift or ladder. Must not be afraid of heights. Installer may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. This position requires technical expertise and hands-on network support in a field based setting.
Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
