About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Landman with a Juris Doctor (JD) to join our team in Pittsburgh. This role is ideal for recent law school graduates who are interested in launching a career in land, energy law, and oil & gas operations. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals to support land acquisition, contract analysis, and regulatory filings—all while gaining exposure to the commercial and legal aspects of the energy industry.
JOB SUMMARY
In this position, you will learn to:
Review, analyze, and interpret oil and gas leases, contracts, and legal documents
Assist in drilling preparation, including regulatory filings, surface agreements, and well proposals
Collaborate with mineral and surface owners to support title curative processes
Work cross-functionally with Land, Legal, and Business Development teams on acquisitions and divestitures
Maintain and interpret contracts related to oil and gas exploration and production activities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
AAPL certification preferred

A proven team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, required. Property Law, Contract Law preferred
Undergraduate degree in Land Management, Energy Commerce, or a related field preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
