Job Summary
As an I&E Technician for Coterra, you are responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and operating electrical systems throughout the Permian Basin region. Incumbents will provide both day to day support and preventive maintenance to critical equipment utilized at various field locations including substations, well sites, compressor stations, tank batteries and salt water disposals. As an I&E Tech you must have an understanding of motor control circuits, transformer and motor connections, fuse and recloser coordination, overhead and underground power distribution, and PLC programming and configurations, within an oil and gas production environment.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
Travel Requirements
This position requires a valid state issued driver’s license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in the position may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT Regulations. Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and maintain electrical equipment and communication instruments throughout the Permian Basin
- Install and calibrate numerous electrical devices including reclosers, transformers, fault indicators, etc.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various communication devices located at remote operational facilities
- Perform testing on all new and existing devices for functionality, shutdowns, and alarm notifications
- Communicate regularly with operations, SCADA, engineering, and measurement teams
- Coordinate contract workers as needed to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
- Program and configure PLC devices to ensure operational efficiency and reliability
- Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies
- Experience with distribution electrical systems up to 25kV
- Experience with substation switching procedures, maintenance, operation, wiring schematics, and one lines is preferred
- Must have experience with 120V, 480V and 24VDC
- Must have experience with Fisher ROC and Allen-Bradley automation equipment
- Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
- Must have strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
- This position requires a valid state issued driver’s license and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in this position are also subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT regulations
- High School or GED
- Vocational / Technical State issued journeyman electrician or journeyman lineman preferred Preferred Other Willingness and ability to pursue state license strongly desired
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in oilfield operations, gas plants, or related experience with electrical distribution systems, as well as understanding of low voltage electrical equipment
