JOB SUMMARY
As a Maintenance Technician for Coterra, you are responsible for maintaining and repairing production operation systems in their assigned region. You will provide both day-to-day support and preventive maintenance to critical equipment utilized at various field locations including well sites, compressor stations, tank batteries and salt water disposals. You must have an understanding of technical concepts, practices and procedures, and has a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to the oil and gas industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for repair, preventive maintenance and overall proper function of all types of mechanical equipment which includes but not limited to: engines, compressors, pumps, valves, turbines, heat exchangers, cooling towers, air coolers, filtration equipment, pressure relief devices, and other specialty items
Lead teams of contractor and vendor technicians for maintenance work as required
Ensures that all equipment is maintained according to Coterra Energy compliance and integrity standards in order to meet expected reliability
Assist Maintenance and Engineering teams in activity planning, engineering change and cost control
Ensure that procedures for the safe execution of tasks are in place and adhered to (including task Instructions, Permits-to Work, Task Risk Assessments, and Safety Meeting and JSA's)
Ensure that all activities are accurately recorded in a maintenance system, providing all necessary reports to required supervisors
Must be proficient in the use of tools including; hydraulic torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers and other precision tools
Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies
Other tasks as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic knowledge of natural gas characteristics, engine and compressor operations and maintenance
Valid Motor Vehicle License required
Must possess strong commitment to personal and job safety
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy
Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Must be a team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
Self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
Must have strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum - High School or GED
Preferred - 2 Year /Associate Degree
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Requires 2 or more years of experience in oilfield operations, gas plants, or related experience; mechanic, maintenance or lease operator experience is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a valid state issued driver’s license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in the position may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT Regulations. Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel required within the business unit field locations.
