What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Consultant position at Cottingham & Butler?
Location : Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois
Are you tired of doing the same thing day after day? Consider becoming a Safety Consultant. This is a home-based position, and we will provide your office equipment and IT support, along with training and support from our home office. All of your business expenses will be covered.

You will be able to share your expertise with manufacturing, construction, and food processing companies of varying sizes. Safety Management Services Company (SMSC), a subsidiary of Cottingham & Butler, is currently seeking a bright and highly motivated individual to join our team of safety consultants.
Typical projects may include :
Gap analysis safety assessments, hazardous materials response team training specific to ammonia, loss leader evaluations of work-related injuries, workplace inspections, mock OSHA compliance investigations, air and / or noise monitoring projects; planning and presenting at risk control workshops / safety seminars, writing technical reports, developing safety service plans, developing and conducting safety webinars, developing and conducting various training programs, and staying abreast of current safety regulations and hot topics across many industries.
Qualifications :
We prefer candidates with safety or operational knowledge and experience within the manufacturing, food processing, agricultural safety and / or construction industries. Familiarity with the OSHA Regulations (1910 and 1926) and a minimum of one year of safety experience (industry and / or loss control) is preferred. The ability or working towards instructing OSHA10 / 30 hour courses and having or working towards a ASP / CSP, is preferred, but not mandatory. Travel is required and typically consists of 2-3 overnights per week.
