Position Summary
Reporting to the Director the Data Architect will have a crucial role in designing and implementing robust data solutions that empower our clients to make data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and reporting / analytics best practices. This role requires excellent communication and client-facing skills to effectively gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions. This role will focus on working with enterprise-grade data warehousing and BI technologies, including Oracle and comparable platforms.
What will you do in this role?
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements, reporting needs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and data architecture designs.
- Design and develop data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) that support reporting, analytics, and data integration initiatives.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage documentation, and other metadata.
- Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move and transform data from various sources into data warehouses1 or data lakes.
- Optimize data warehouse performance and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies, with a focus on enterprise-grade solutions.
- Work closely with development teams, data analysts, and other stakeholders to implement data solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest data architecture trends and technologies.
- Present data architecture designs and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Consider data architecture implications for future AI / ML initiatives.
