Job Description – If you are artistic and like to work with your hands learn how to put your abilities to work and build a carrier in the orthotic industry. This is considered a training position where an employee assists other lab technicians with their basic lab duties. You will be trained to work with many materials such as plaster, metal, acrylic resins to manufacture custom orthodontic appliances.
The General Technician will assist in the production of orthodontic and dental appliances using state-of-the-art equipment such as laser and plasma welders and 3d Printers. We provide all the training and certifications needed to promote your growth within Cottonwood Lab. The General technician will usually help within multiple departments such as intake, outtake, model preparation, and appliance preparation all depending on production needs. This will help the lab managers to better assess an employee’s strengths and weaknesses. Employees who possess artistic ability or craftsman skills often do well at this job.
Duties:
- Pouring and prepping of models made of plaster and plastic prior to fabrication.
- Setting bands and crowns.
- Use cad cam software to produce quality, patient-specific orthodontic appliances; and like products.

- Manage workflow of appliances to be produced based on due date and priority.
- Site or stand for long periods of time to complete a task.
- Efficient time management.
- Including but not limited to adhering to and understanding Standard Operating Procedures; and all components of the Quality System.
- Helping with other tasks around the lab and side-work until technician becomes effective at their primary task.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
