Position Title: Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary:
Perform pharmacy related functions in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and company policies & procedures under the direct supervision of pharmacists. Job duties include computer tasks such as data entry and processing prescriptions, preparing deliveries, managing inventory and other documentation. Additionally, this particular role will facilitate patient communication including onboarding, scheduling refills and deliveries, coordinating clinical assessment completion, and monitoring patient satisfaction. This role requires excellent communication skills, willingness to adapt to changing needs, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities
1. Follow all policies and procedures of Cottrill’s Pharmacy, Inc.
2. Follow all NY state laws, rules, and regulations
3. Follow all DEA regulations
4. Successfully complete all required training.
6. Assist in maintaining inventory records
7. Process prescriptions through computer including insurance reconciliation.
8. Properly label and prepare prescriptions to be checked by pharmacist.
9. Process prescriptions for payment and delivery.
10. Prepare deliveries including ancillary supplies and delivery tickets for pharmacist approval.
11. Communicate with patients to collect information, and schedule refills and deliveries.
12. Assist pharmacists with coordination of refill schedules.
13. Communicate with prescribers, insurance companies and other applicable entities as directed by pharmacists and as allowed by law.
14. Track deliveries and assist in resolving delivery interruptions.
15. Track delivery signatures and assist in follow-up to ensure collection as needed.
16. Assist with tracking and maintenance of equipment including nursing infusion pumps.
17. Assist in training new employees.
18. Answer phone calls as needed.
19. Keeps all work areas in clean and organized manner.
20. Maintain a high level of professionalism.
21. Be punctual, reliable and positive.

Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel for training purposes.
- Must be motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
*While performing duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods, and reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision.

College-level writing proficiency is preferred for drafting policies and procedures. Ability to communicate via telephone with patients, health plans, physicians and their office staff, PBMs and other outside organizational representatives.
Computer Skills
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must have ability to enter data accurately at 35 wpm. Must be adept at using various applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and communicating by e-mail. Must be adept at creating formulas in Excel to adapt or modify reports as needed.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
