We are a small, family owned surveying company located in Mount Sterling, Ohio. Started in 1983 by current owner James "Randy" Cottrill, PS. Specializing in Boundary Surveys, ALTA-NSPS Surveys and Construction Staking. Fully licensed and insured.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Survey Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surveying projects by utilizing advanced technology and software to collect, analyze, and interpret data. This position requires the ability to imply surveying principles, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to work collaboratively with Professionals. All fieldwork is within 2 hour travel from our office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys using GPS and other surveying equipment to collect accurate data. Initially part of our experienced field crew.
- Research property deeds in various counties.
- Draw subject deeds using Carlson Software.
- Assist in data collection for various projects, ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is calibrated for optimal performance.
- Document survey findings and prepare reports for review by senior staff.
Requirements
- Abilty to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Carry at minimum 50 lbs
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret deeds and subdivion plats
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members.
- A valid driver’s license is required for travel to various job sites.
Ideal candidate also has
- Experience with CAD programs (Carlson Survey)
- Experience with GPS and/or other surveying equipment (Leica).

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
