Operations Trainers are responsible for owning and driving the training program for operations. Operations Trainers leverage learning through training, written approved procedures and other proactive activities. All documentation pertaining to Training Instructions and Historical Records should be owned by Operation Training Team.
Trainers equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks according to approved procedures. Trainers either deliver training themselves or arrange for other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to do so and monitor outcomes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Work environment could include exposure to varying air temperatures seasonally impacted.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Medium: Requires exertion of 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 11 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires about 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Sitting may be required only intermittently and occasionally. Stooping is usually required frequently.
Duration & Repetitive Standards
Constant activity or condition exists up more than 2/3 of the time equivalent to more than 5.25 hours per work day or more than 40 minutes each hour.

THE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for:
Safety
- Train employees to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Participates as needed in the incident investigation process
- Facilitates appropriate training for all safety related activities
- Provides some observation of processing and takes necessary actions for non-compliance, such as coaching and or disqualification.
- Provides guidance on compliance with necessary CGMP standards.
- Understand and respects operation measures and KPI linkage.
- Proposes improvements in the training materials and measures and participates in improvement events.
- Advises or conducts team projects for specific training-related improvements.
- Makes assignments for trainees and On the Job Trainers and monitors quality of training.
- Assess new skills required if necessary and perform training as part of product launches.
- Ensure departments training compliance is 100%.
- Create and maintain training schedule for site.
- Follow all site GMP policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Understand In-Process Measure and KPI linkage to Site Results and Vision
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of technical writing and editing processes. Exhibits superior knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Interpretation of equipment and product data (i.e. run charts, bar charts, pareto charts)
- Solid root cause problem solving capability (identify to root cause) in the performance of needs assessment
- Basic equipment/mechanical knowledge for changeovers, minor adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Basic Lean principles and tools including 5S, Standard Work and AM Steps 1-3
- Coaching/Feedback methods
- Certified Train the Trainer graduate
- Able to use constructive feedback in order to cause performance improvement
- Ability to facilitate training of processes
- Coach employees to be successful in the use of SAP
- Conduct training sessions for employees.
- Perform thorough task analysis and create Work Instructions, OPLs and SOPs as required.
- Use good interpersonal and communication skills(verbal and written)
- Work in a team-based environment (shared ownership and responsibility)
- Strong organizational skills (time and physical area)
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Take ownership of training plans and execute them with excellence
- Able to follow written processes appropriately
- Excellent math skills
- Basic equipment troubleshooting
- Perform needs analysis to determine skill and knowledge gaps
- Take materials from subject matter experts and convert into training materials that meet adult learning requirements
- Design and conduct department induction programs
- Deploy trained internal experts to perform effective training. Assess their skills and manage their output.
