Description
Scope of Responsibility
The focus of the Law Clerk is to assist with a variety of functions associated primarily with the Commercial Collections and Replevin Departments including but not limited to drafting pleadings, distributing incoming correspondence to the attorneys, and other administrative functions. All functions shall be performed in a manner that adheres to the applicable laws, Couch Lambert standards, and client procedures.
Training and Continuing Education
· FDCPA
· CLS
· Civil Procedure
· Pleading Drafting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following, other duties may
be assigned as business need dictates:
- Entering and Processing New Cases
- Drafting Pleadings- Motions, Petitions, and Exceptions
- Distributing correspondence to attorneys
- Scheduling and running departmental meetings
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for Position
- Organized, pro-active.
- Ability to take instruction and achieve goals.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and adopt the suggestions into their daily work.
- General knowledge of the legal process.
- Strong communication skills, especially grammar.
- Willingness/desire to learn.
