JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Media & Communications is responsible for executing CNHA’s public-facing messaging across digital platforms and supporting relationships with external media partners. This role will manage one creative production specialist focused on digital media and will serve as an internal liaison to CNHA’s external PR agency, a strategic communications partner that plays an essential role in media relations, message development, and public engagement. The Director of Media & Communication will attend in-person, off-site events and assist with the coordination and delivery of graphic design services as well as other services as needed to CNHA, its members, programs and other events, including the Annual Native Hawaiian Convention (ANHC) and other conventions.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBIITIES, and EXPECTATIONS:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee day-to-day content and management of social media, websites, email newsletters, and digital campaigns including YouTube.
- Interface with CNHA’s external PR agency, providing internal support for media outreach, messaging development, and strategic communications initiatives.
- Manage digital publishing calendars and coordinate content delivery from internal teams and creative staff.
- Supervise one production specialist focused on digital content execution (graphics, short-form video, reels, etc.)
- Track and analyze performance of digital content, including social media analytics and engagement metrics.
- Coordinate with Director of Creative Services to ensure visual and written alignment across all platforms.
- Lead strategy and implementation to grow and amplify CNHA’s Instagram and YouTube Channel and video-based storytelling.
- Participates and performs duties as assigned for CNHA’s annual Native Hawaiian Convention.
- Assist with completing all other tasks as directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years in digital communications, social media, or brand storytelling
- Strong understanding of content strategy and social platform best practices
- Experience managing or working with external PR or marketing agencies.
- Familiarity with social analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Skilled in writing for digital platforms (web, social, email)
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Familiarity with Native Hawaiian culture or a strong desire to produce place-based storytelling.
- Proficiency or fluency in ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i is a plus but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to/from projects or events on Oʻahu.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
