The Council of Community Services is a non-profit organization serving Campbell County. For over 50 years we have been "helping people help themselves". With programs focused on homelessness, hunger, and emergency assistance we give families and individuals the resources they need to fight their way out of poverty. We need someone to join our team providing shelter to the homeless.
Overview:
As the homeless shelter Intake Clerk, you will assist with the day to day operations of the shelter ensuring those without a home have someplace to go. We are looking to fill a full-time, overnight, swing shift position. Your goal will be providing safe shelter to residents as they move themselves into self-sufficiency. Your success will lead to rewarding and life changing outcomes for residents and a fulfilling job experience for you.
Requirements:
To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following:
- Experience: Must have a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues preferred.
- Skills: You must be comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life. Must confidently operate Microsoft Office products. You must be a clear communicator.
- Characteristics: Able to work independently. Self-motivated and able to problem solve.
Responsibilities:
As the homeless shelter Intake Clerk, you will provide critical support to the homeless shelter residents. Your role in fulfilling our mission will include:
- Assist with daily shelter operations
- Follow policies and procedures of the organization
- Assign chores to residents and monitor activities
- Assist with cleaning and laundry
- Perform daily room checks and security checks of the facility
- Provide immediate and professional response to any safety/security emergency or disturbance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Experience:
- Shelter & Recovery Home Monitors: 1 year (Preferred)
