POSITION SUMMARY
CAIR Connecticut (CAIR-CT, Inc) is the state chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the largest Muslim civil rights organization in the United States.
Since its establishment in 1994, CAIR has worked to promote a positive image of Islam and Muslims in America. Through media relations, education, and advocacy, CAIR works to ensure a Muslim voice is represented in civil society. Through our work, CAIR seeks to empower American Muslims and encourage their participation in political and social activism.
The Executive Director for CAIR Connecticut is responsible for fulfilling the organization’s mission and developing and implementing its strategies. S / he plays an integral role in fundraising to support the chapter’s work.
LOCATION
CAIR-CT’s office is located in Hartford. Upon consultation with the Board, the Executive Director may work remotely as required from other locations in Connecticut.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
General Management :
- Oversee all daily operations
- Manage all paid staff and contractors
- Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the office facility

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
The projected start date is January 2021. Evenings, weekends, and off-hour work will be required as needed without additional compensation. Travel within Connecticut and some travel outside of Connecticut may be required and will be reimbursed. Having your own car along with a valid driver’s license is required.
