Overview

The Program Assistant will support the work of the Corporate Affairs department, which administers the Corporate Program and is the Council’s primary point of contact with the private sector. The Corporate Program raises $6 million through its membership program, which offers a forum for executives from approximately 120 leading global business and financial firms to explore issues at the nexus of business and foreign policy.

The Program Assistant will spend half of his/her time supporting the Managing Director of CEO Programs. The Program Assistant will also support the work of the Corporate Program, supporting the Managing Director of Corporate Member Relations and will ensure the highest level of corporate member interaction.

 

Qualified candidates will have related experience that requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, sound judgment, and the highest level of discretion.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

• Provide direct administrative support to the Managing Director of CEO Programs, including but not limited to: tracking and scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and preparing expense reports• Support outreach by the Executive Office and Managing Direcctor of CEO Programs by preparing backgrounders and meeting materials, drafting correspondence, compliling marketing materials, and managing follow-up actions• Research and remain current on relevant topics and regions for CEOs of member companies, senior executives of member companies and prospect companies• Extensive use of the membership database in support of the full Corporate Affairs team, including by not limited to: updating contact information, tracking outreach, managing registrations, executing queries, and generating reports • Maintain CEO marketing lists of corporate and individual members• Assist the Corporate Programming team with event logistics and research, including but not limited to: preparing officiator materials, drafting meeting invitations, and reconciling meeting attendance• Provide coverage for the email and phone line for the Corporate Program, serving as an initial point of contact for executives from corporate member companies • Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team and other departments in support of overall departmental and institutional priorities and provide assistance across departmental lines upon request• Support and staff CEO Leadership Circle and Corporate Program virtual and in-person events; staff CFR-wide events, including early morning breakfasts and evening meetings, outside regular business hours as needed Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Education• Bachelor’s degree in related field with high academic achievement

Experience• Related administrative experience; experience working with high level executives preferred.

Related Skills & Other Requirements• Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills• Detail-oriented, self-starter with outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; Microsoft Dynamics database management experience a plus.• Flexible schedule with willingness to work early morning and evening events

Compensation and BenefitsThe full-time annual compensation range for this position is $55,000 – $58,000, depending on experience.
