The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) creates innovative educational resources that seek to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and perspective—the global literacy—required to understand the forces, ideas, and institutions that shape today’s world. These resources include CFR Education multimedia explainers and simulations. Each resource comes with companion teaching resources and activities appropriate for a specific target audience, be it high school teachers, college professors, and/or their students.
The Program Assistant will provide administrative support for the VP of Education and the entire Education department.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
- Process and handle invoices for the department.
- Prepare monthly finance reports.
- Make travel arrangements and process expense reimbursements for the department.
- Coordinate the catering for small team meetings.
- Book rooms, set up necessary equipment, and ensure readiness for meetings.
- Time permitting, support research and other departmental projects.
- Support the VP in coordinating the annual budget process and reports to funders.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, and/or journalism with high academic achievement preferred
- At least one year of administrative support experience
Related Skills & Other Requirements
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite programs
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Interest in international relations preferred

Compensation and Benefits
- The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $55,000 – $58,000, depending on experience.
