Position : Tax Specialist (Secretary IV), Permanent Support Staff (Anticipated)
Location : Chancellor Center / Business Office
Available : February, 2025
Hours / Schedule : 7.5 hrs. per day / 5 days per week / 261 days per yr. (Benefit Eligible)
SUMMARY :
This individual is primarily responsible for the timely review, entry and processing of tax payments / billings. This individual must be able to maintain a cooperative, congenial and service-oriented atmosphere within an environment with frequent interruptions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Administration of Occupation and Real Estate Taxes, which includes maintaining tax database.
- Answers inquiries regarding tax matters and support tax collectors.
- Compile monthly adjustment reports and board reports.
- Issue refunds for qualified residents due to non-residency status, unemployment, etc.
- Reconcile the delinquent year and prepare a report for our delinquent collector.
- Set up New Year databases for tax collections.
- Responds to tax payer inquiries via postal, telephonic and e-mail communications.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
