We are seeking a Senior Accountant who is more than just a numbers person. This critical role combines the technical expertise of an accountant with the charisma to be lovable in the process. You will work closely with a portfolio of small business clients, helping them navigate the complexities of finance with a strategic mindset and hands-on support. Experience working for an accounting firm managing clients is required, and construction industry experience is a definite plus.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a portfolio of small business clients across various industries, acting as their go-to financial advisor.
- Conduct detailed financial reviews with a keen eye for accuracy, compliance, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide audit-level assurance and build trust with clients by communicating insights clearly and positively.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their financial goals are met with actionable strategies.
- Oversee financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.
- Collaborate with internal CounselFi teams to deliver seamless CFO, accounting, and bookkeeping services.
- Handle complex accounting tasks, such as reconciliations, payroll oversight, and cost accounting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency for clients and CounselFi’s internal operations.
About You
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting roles, with at least 3 years managing a client portfolio at an accounting firm.
- Personality: You bring a unique mix of technical expertise and interpersonal charm, making you both a trusted advisor and a joy to work with.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting tools.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in construction accounting is a big plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized with a focus on delivering excellent client service.
