We have an opening at our Yale office. The role of Medical Director requires a licensed Medical Provider in Oklahoma with a current DEA number in good standing (with preferred history of training and experience in psychiatry or prescribing psychiatric medications). A minimum of four (4) years of direct supervisory / administrative experience in healthcare settings. Demonstrated commitment to providing services to medically underserved populations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Starting annual salary for Medical Director is $260,000

Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma provides mental health and substance abuse treatment, physical health care management and wellness services for over 5,000 children and adults annually. We are Oklahoma's only community mental health center certified in the Sanctuary model of care. General Expectations :

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Medical Director will provide consultation and support of all aspects of medical (typically medication management) care services provided by CRS. Using principles / practices of the Sanctuary Model, Medical Director help to monitor clinic performance to ensure medical services / operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing agencies. The Medical Director provide consultation and support to insure implementation, review and development of clinical protocols, performance objectives, productivity benchmarks, compliance measures, provider workflow planning and provider scheduling in collaboration with the Clinical Director. Medical Director acts as a resource to the agency as a whole providing guidance in best practices, troubleshooting of medical services and operations issues in priority of urgency and according to agency policy. The Medical Director will provide clinical and medical opinions to the Clinical Director, Executive Director and Board of Directors as requested. As a licensed physician, the Medical Director will also provide direct client services according to needs of the agency and consistent with standards of practice and established productivity expectations. As experience in using and navigating electronic medical records.

Example of Position Responsibilities :

  • Provide consultation, support, and monitoring of delivery of medical care by providers through direct supervision, monitoring, and audits.
  • Review condition of agency clients referred to medication clinic, prescribe medications for clients, as needed, in keeping with accepted clinical practice and consistent with credentials, and determine efficacy of intervention with medication.
  • Serve as mentor and manage resolution of practice related problems of / between provider staff in a timely manner.
  • Promote provider support for diagnostic and E&M coding accuracy, adherence with corporate compliance plan, and claims preparation for third party reimbursement.
  • Provide consultation and support on a plan for growth, expansion and / or development of programs; solve existing and anticipated organizational problems; and formulate and / or revise policies / procedures that will enhance achievement of organizational goals.
  • Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.

    Physical Requirements : Must be able to move from location to location, bending, stooping, lifting 25 pounds, communicate clearly, prepare written communications, present information to other employees, process complex information within established procedures / programs, enter data to various programs. Must be able to climb stairs and access non-handicapped equipped residences / facilities.
