Essential Functions
- Oversees HR responsibilities at manufacturing site to ensure compliance, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
- Supervise and develop HR Generalist
- Serves as a business partner to plant leadership. Understand business needs and helps to proactively address issues.
- Ensures all HR policies, procedures, reporting, and record keeping are in compliance, and continuously monitors state and local laws and regulations to ensure our policies remain in compliance for the future.
- Oversees recruitment for plant site positions, including interviewing, onboarding, and orientation. Includes partnering with external agencies to ensure staffing. Conducts new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
- Partners with EHS Manager on safety initiatives. Participates in safety committee and works with Senior HR Manager on Workers Compensation claims and trends.
- Serves as primary resources for employee relations, escalates to management and Sr. HR Manager as needed for appropriate resolution. Assists in investigations of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
- Deliver training as needed; partner with leadership to identify learning opportunities. Ensure annual compliance training is completed.
- Accurately manage payroll processes and HRIS data entry for hires, changes, and payroll submission. May serve as back up to administrator of HRIS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- HR Certification preferred
- 8 Years – Experience in food/beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment; with people management experience.
- Strong knowledge of California and local municipal labor laws is essential
- Exceptional communication skills to support hourly workforce as well as partner with leadership. Must be able to speak, read and write Spanish.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, learn quicky and adapt to fast paced and growing environment.
