About the Job:
Under the supervision of the Vice President, Business Systems, this position is responsible for supporting the strategic business goals and objectives of the bank, including assisting with any analysis, providing core and ancillary product application support and ensuring that the core system and integrated products are effectively leveraged. This role serves as the Bank’s primary System Administrator and internal operational support for core processing system upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting. Additionally, this position will take on the operational support of additional banking systems as a vendor and product owner.
The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000.
This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):
- Provides vendor and product management oversight for key branch technology solutions.
- Manages users, authorization levels, password resets, and security settings for the core banking application as well as other business support applications, serving as the primary contact for managing user access rights on the core banking system and other business systems.
- Acts as a liaison between the vendor, IT and other departments on assigned system(s) for items including technical issues, enhancements and projects.
- Manages and implements software releases and requested system changes in the test and production environments, confirming system administration set up and performs thorough testing, opening accounts on the core and confirming processing ability through to the integrated ancillary products prior to business unit hand off.
- Conducts detailed review of release notes or operational requests for new enhancements or system features. Establishes reviews with business units to discuss product recommendations that best align with overall business requirements.
- Notifies and schedules periodic system updates with IT Operations team to deploy and test annual releases, service packs or patches based on vendor identified release schedule. Will require work outside of normal business hours on occasion.
- Works with business areas to troubleshoot operational issues, opens and monitors core cases, and escalates high risk issues to the Vendor, VP, Business Systems or internal management team where necessary. Collects information on reoccurring issues to identify problems in need of root cause investigation.
- Manages vendor accountability for product functionality, participates in vendor user groups, and advocates for design improvements for product enhancements.
- Leverages IT Change management process to ensure large changes are implemented with minimal adverse impact the business.
- Reviews application monitoring reports to detect any changes or issues that may occur without bank intervention.
- Works with business partners to define, implement and refine business process workflows in order to optimize business process and resource utilization. Work with Lean / Agile principles to identify opportunities to improve business process performance.
- Works with business partners to assist in leveraging system data through data processing, data analyzing, ad-hoc core reports and SQL reporting for automation processing as well as modifying core system generated reports per business needs or requests.

Knowledge and Skills
It is required that the employee in this position can work independently, interpreting ideas and facts, while also analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and/or regulations. This employee should have strong customer service skills, as well as strong written communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations in a group setting. An individual with exceptional verbal aptitude and the ability to understand business processes and then translate these processes into technology is required.
This position requires the ability to communicate and effectively translate technical details and ideas to various individuals, including non-technical personnel. Basic principles of IT and prior banking knowledge are preferred. This employee should have a problem-solving mindset with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with project management tools and techniques is a plus.
This position requires intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word and must have strong knowledge of the Finastra core platform.
Education and Work Experience
A High School diploma is required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in banking is required. Experience in business process design, optimization processes, and system analysis methodologies highly preferred. Additionally, experience working with vendors to evaluate, negotiate, and implement system solutions are also highly preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies. This position may require some travel between offices.
