Come join the Country Club of Buffalo team as the Youth Activities Coordinator. The successful candidate will work seasonally to run an already established Summer Recreation Program for members' children and grandchildren. Five weeks of programming will be required, with limited work required outside of the program for planning, hiring, etc. in the off season. The Youth Activities Coordinator will have creative freedom to plan activities as they choose, as well as hire their own team according to the budget provided. Longevity is valued at CCB, and the Club hopes to hire a Youth Activities Coordinator that will return each summer for as long as both parties are happy. Wages will be commensurate with experience.
Full Job Summary :
This position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and directing youth programing, to include the Summer Recreation Program, and other club related functions for the children of CCB members. Incumbents may also participate in the planning, initiation and development of new youth programs, in accordance with established departmental goals and objectives. Does related work as required. Position has the potential to be a year-round part time for planning once a month children's activities for families.
Schedule :
7-hour shifts, Monday through Friday 9AM-4PM
Applicant must be available for all shifts for 5 weeks. Summer Recreation Program will run from June 30th-August 1st
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Designing, organizing, and implementing Youth Summer Programs.
- Maintain budget, develop activities, accept reservations, track usage, conduct billing for camp.
- Hiring, supervising and training of counselors.
- Energetically and enthusiastically interact with all members and their children. Develop ideas for youth activities and action plans for increasing opportunities and participation.
- Work closely with the Member Experience Manager to identify member needs, and advertise all youth events and functions.
- Work closely with the Catering Team in constructing and implementing Summer Rec Program and other Club Family Events.
- Coordinate Summer Rec Program with Golf Professional, Tennis Professional and Swim Director to ensure minimal overlap and maximum recreational opportunities for CCB youth.
- Evaluates and assesses an assigned program, and recommends modifications to better achieve desired results.
- Leads a variety of activities and outings designed to benefit program participants.
- Maintains and reviews case records / incident reports and modifies participant programs as needed.
- Prepares oral and / or written reports concerning program activities, objectives and effectiveness.
- May participate in the development of program budget, applications for funding and the disbursement of funds.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Directly supervises employees in youth program. Oversees a five-week program during the summer season, with limited work outside of camp schedule related to planning, set up, and closing the season. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and / or Experience :
High School degree required. College degree desired, preferably in education.
Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before, department heads, groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
