Golf Course Maintenance Worker

Summary:

This position is responsible for everything associated with maintaining the golf course and grounds to the highest standard expected here at the Country Club of Decatur. The purpose of this position is to assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in a very hands on approach to the daily maintenance of the golf course, along with interacting with our membership and giving them an unmatched experience. This position reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or the Assistant Superintendent.

• Operation of all equipment
• Greens Mowers
• Tee Mowers
• Fairway Mowers
• Skid Loader
• Line Trimmers
• Sprayers
• Bunker rakes
• Shovels
• Backhoe
• Sod cutter
• Rough Mowers
• Chainsaw
• Blowers
• Wood Chipper
• Utility Carts
• Other essential tools

Requirements/Qualification:

• Coming to work with a positive attitude and willing to learn is very valuable
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail
• Ability to interact with other members of our TEAM
• Must be able to work weekends (Either Saturday or Sunday, not both)
• Willingness to learn golf course maintenance tasks
• Ability to follow directions and ask questions
• Previous operation knowledge of equipment preferred but not essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform manual labor
• ex. Digging for irrigation repair, trenching drainage, bending over to pick up debris, line trimming for extended periods of time, etc.
• Ability to work in changing weather conditions (ex. Cold, Snow, Heat, Rain, etc.)

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Morning shift
