JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Lifeguard
DEPARTMENT: Aquatics
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Services or Aquatics Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: As a Country Club of Mobile Team Member, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. Our members and guests expect the best. Successful CCM Team Members take pride in personal appearances, show dedication, display integrity and honesty in all areas of service.
Ensures the safety of pool patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operations. Performs work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to Director of Services or Aquatics Supervisor.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Empties automatic skimmer; skims bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use.
2. Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety by enforcing rules.
3. Administers care to swimmers’ minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises.
4. Maintains amenities and cleanliness in changing areas, bathrooms and showers.
5. Checks daily first aid supplies and reports needed items.
6. Places rescue tube and ring buoy on the lifeguard chair in the morning; returns these and all swimming aids and pool toys to the lifeguard office when the pool closes.
7. Maintains all necessary records determined by the Director of Services or Aquatics Supervisor
8. Attends all meetings as directed by their supervisors.
9. Implements all pool safety equipment.
10. Performs required pool pre-opening duties.
11. Informs Director of Services or Aquatics Supervisor about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem.
12. Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned.
13. At the end of the day: straightens the furniture on the pool deck and cabana areas, close the umbrellas, as well as pick up trash along the surrounding areas inside and outside the pool fence, and wash pool decks and furniture down.
