What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snack Shack Worker position at Country Club of Paducah?
Responsibilities:
§ Provide Excellent Customer Service: Serve food and beverages to members in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure a positive, welcoming atmosphere at all times.
§ Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and politely with members, staff, and management. Respond to member inquiries regarding menu items and provide recommendations when appropriate.
§ Order Management: Take and accurately input customer orders into the Jonas system, ensuring all special requests are communicated clearly and correctly.
§ Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook food items according to club standards, ensuring consistency and high quality in both presentation and taste.
§ Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies (utensils, cups, napkins, etc.). Notify management promptly when inventory is low and needs replenishing.
§ Workplace Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized snack bar area. Regularly clean food preparation spaces, utensils, equipment, and ensure all areas are safe and tidy for both staff and guests.
§ Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and inspect kitchen equipment, making sure everything is in good working condition. Report any malfunctions or required maintenance to management immediately.
§ Dress Code & Safety: Adhere to the dress code by wearing a clean, well-maintained uniform and closed-toe shoes for safety, especially when working in a hot and potentially wet environment. Always use protective gear such as gloves or aprons when handling food.
§ Punctuality & Attendance: Arrive on time for shifts and follow the established attendance policy. If unable to attend a scheduled shift, notify the Aquatics Director and obtain permission in advance.
§ Sobriety & Professionalism: Arrive sober and mentally alert for each shift. Ensure that personal conduct is professional at all times, both with coworkers and members.
Teamwork & Communication:
§ Collaboration with Staff: Work effectively with other team members (including kitchen staff, lifeguards, and management) to ensure smooth operations and provide the best possible service to members.
§ Communication with Management: Report any incidents, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions to management immediately, and follow procedures to document and address them.
§ Professionalism & Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts with members or team members calmly and professionally. Take responsibility for resolving issues respectfully and in a manner that supports the team and the club’s reputation.
Safety & Risk Management:
§ Maintain Awareness of Safety Standards: Always be alert to the potential safety risks in the snack bar area (e.g., slippery floors, hot surfaces) and address them proactively by cleaning up spills or properly securing equipment.
§ Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures for fires, medical emergencies, or equipment failures. Be prepared to act promptly should any situation arise, including contacting the appropriate staff (e.g., lifeguards, management).
§ Risk Prevention: Proactively identify unsafe conditions, such as improperly stacked supplies or food safety issues, and take appropriate steps to eliminate these risks.
Physical & Mental Wellness:
§ Rest & Readiness: Arrive at work well-rested and in good physical condition to ensure you are mentally and physically prepared to handle your responsibilities.
§ Avoid Illness & Fatigue: Do not report to work if you feel unwell or fatigued. It is essential to maintain your health to ensure the safety of both you and others.
§ Stay Hydrated & Take Breaks: Drink water regularly and take appropriate breaks to prevent fatigue, especially in hot weather conditions.
§ Mental & Physical Wellness: Never report to work when feeling unwell, as it may impact your ability to perform the tasks required. Take care of your well-being to ensure you can provide excellent service.
Handling Special Situations:
§ Member Disruptions & Safety: If there are any disruptions or unsafe behavior from members (e.g., aggressive behavior, underage drinking), address the situation calmly and escalate it to management if necessary.
§ Assisting Vulnerable Guests: Be attentive to children, elderly members, or guests with disabilities who may need assistance or accommodation. Ensure their safety and comfort while in the snack bar area.
§ Adjusting for Environmental Conditions: Be mindful of environmental factors (e.g., heat, humidity) and take steps to ensure both your well-being and the comfort of members (e.g., ensuring proper air circulation, providing extra water during hot days).
