What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gardener position at Country Club of Virginia, Inc.?
The Country Club of Virginia is actively searching for a part-time gardener to help maintain the grounds of the club, ensuring a consistent, quality experience for members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Prune shrubs and trees
- Water perennials, shrubs, and annuals
- Blow and rake leaves
- Clean grounds and remove litter
- Maintain the health of several acres of beds/plant material
- Spread mulch and plant annuals, perennials, and shrubs
- Design/plant seasonal pots
- Apply fertilizer to trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Monitor plant health throughout the property
- Consult with Grounds Manager on plant selections
SCHEDULE:
Part-time, flexible schedule, approximately 20 hours a week.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. One year of experience working in gardening/landscape maintenance is preferred. Practical knowledge and training involving plant ID and other horticultural practices and procedures are required.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Backpack blower, hedge trimmers, and other commonly used hand tools such as shovels, pruners, and rakes.
