Brunch Cook
We are a busy kitchen and bar in Costa Mesa and hiring for immediate weekend brunch line cooks. We are looking for experienced Cooks with a sense of urgency to prepare and cook a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. Cook must understand and have worked in a high-volume breakfast/ brunch kitchen with prior experience working a short order egg station.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
- Cook food and prepare menu items in a timely manner
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of work surfaces or serving areas and storage containers to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a restaurant cook in a high volume kitchen preferred
- Must have or obtain CA Food Handler’s certification
- Speed, efficiency, and consistency when cooking and plating dishes
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work standing for duration of shift
