Overview
We are a mobile mixed animal clinic that provides home care in Northern Colorado. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients, both large and small, and supporting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory work, while adhering to proper protocols.
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide critical care as needed.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Handle animal patients with care, ensuring their well-being during visits.
- Utilize knowledge of veterinary terminology and dental terminology in daily tasks.
- Keep the mobile clinic clean and organized, following all health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in handling various breeds of dogs and understanding their behavior is essential.
- Familiarity with animal physiology and veterinary critical care practices is highly desirable.
- Experience with laboratory procedures related to animal health is a plus.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners.
